Postural Awareness

Demonstrating posture and neutral spine.


We're not designed to sit all day but many of us do. We need support if it's for long periods, but we also need strength and awareness. We function best in neutral spine, but this is not always where we are. We breathe better when our shoulders are back, rather than hunched and often concaving our chest. However, we can't hold these shoulders back if we don't have the postural strength through our back, core and diaphragm area. Pilates helps to build this and create more awareness.
